Denver Nuggets point guard Isaiah Thomas is one of many NBA players coming out in support of the WNBA and its stars, recently penning an opinion piece in The Players' Tribune to bring more attention into their financial situation.

Thomas took it upon himself to bring attention to the matter, explaining why the disparity in salaries between WNBA and NBA players matters so much.

“And then lastly, man — yeah, I’ll say it: We’ve also gotta make more noise about WNBA salaries. Way more noise,” Thomas wrote. “WNBA players should be paid a lot more than they’re getting right now. That’s obvious. They’re professional athletes and role models and the best in the world at what they do — they should be paid like it.

“Better salaries are there if we want them to be. So let’s speak up about that.”

Players like Skylar Diggins-Smith, Brittney Griner and Liz Cambage have recently talked about the inequality in their pay — especially the tiny amount of the basketball revenue they get compared to NBA players.

The Washington native expressed his profound admiration for the Seattle Storm, who are basketball royalty after adding two more banners to the lone 1979 Seattle SuperSonics championship banner that hangs from the rafters at Key Arena.

Thomas believes that bridging the gap in pay begins with bringing attention to the league itself and making it marketable, as players like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker have gone out of their way to show their support for women's basketball during their days off.
