Just when we thought that the injury bug had finally made its way out of the Denver Nuggets locker room, down goes third-year guard Jamal Murray with an apparent ankle injury. However, it appears that it is nothing serious, with team head coach Mike Malone stating that Murray's early departure on Saturday against the Phoenix Suns was merely a precautionary move.

The Nuggets routed the lowly Suns on Friday, 132-95, with Murray recording only 23 minutes of action (13 points, five assists) on the evening. The 6-foot-4 guard was forced to make multiple trips to the locker room because of the ankle issue, and at one point, he was even seen in a walking boot. This did cause some concern for Nuggets supporters, as it appeared as if the injury curse had been passed on to Murray.

The Nuggets have been dealing with a slew of injuries throughout the season, and have just recently gotten Will Barton, Paul Millsap, and Gary Harris back from respective injury layoffs.

Nonetheless, it seems like the team may have dodged a bullet here with Murray. The 21-year-old himself stated that he intends to take the court in the Nuggets' next game scheduled on Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers.

However, with the team comfortably sitting on the second spot in the Western Conference, it would not be a surprise if the Nuggets err on the side of caution, and have Murray sit out the second night of a back-to-back set. Murray is as durable as they come, so even if he misses Saturday's contest, he should be back on the floor sooner rather than later.
