Prior to the Denver Nuggets' 114-105 victory against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of their best-of-seven first round series matchup, NBA analyst Nick Wright had some choice words for them, calling them a pretentious team with a pretentious superstar.

The Nuggets were able to secure the second best record in the West this season, a massive improvement considering that they didn't make the playoffs last year. However, they have struggled to beat some of their fellow contenders like the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets, which led to many people doubting their ability to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Nikola Jokic also took major strides this season, and a testament to that is his inclusion to the All-Star team for the first time in his career. Yet, Wright doesn't believe he has what it takes to take the Nuggets to the Finals.

There is no doubt that the Nuggets are a talented team, but they're also inexperienced. Going up against a veteran Spurs team is going to be tough for them. But it is also the perfect opportunity for Denver to silence Wright and the rest of their doubters. If they can reach at least the Western Conference Finals and give whoever they face a run for their money, then this season will already be considered a success.
