The rumors are true: Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic is skinny now.

Take a look for yourself:

Nuggets teammate Jamal Murray recently joked that Jokic now has a “four pack,” and other members of the organization have noted the weight loss during this quarantine period. It's jarring to see the big man look this skinny, and it will be interesting to see how this impacts his play on the court.

Jokic's weight loss actually started before the NBA even went on hiatus. He was noticeably out of shape at the beginning of the 2019-20 season, so he soon took it upon himself to lose weight and get back into shape. That clearly continued in serious fashion over the last few months.

Prior to the suspension of the NBA season, the 7-foot Nuggets center was averaging 20.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists while shooting 52.8% from the field. These numbers are almost identical to last season's numbers, but he had been coming on strong before the shutdown following his sluggish start.

Jokic's Nuggets own a 43-22 record, which is good for the No. 3 spot in the Western Conference. They're only 1.5 games behind the second-seeded Los Angeles Clippers, so there's a chance to move up into that No. 2 slot during those eight seeding games at Disney World.

Denver earned the No. 2 seed in the West last season, only to fall in seven games to the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round. The Nuggets are looking to take the next step this summer, and they're hoping a skinny Nikola Jokic will lead the way.
