The NBA halftime Hall of Fame may have received a new entrant on Wednesday night when a group of Indiana Pacers fans took part in one of the most baffling games of tic-tac-toe that you'll ever see.

In all honesty, the rules of tic-tac-toe are pretty simple. The main goal is to get three in a row in any direction, and you're a winner.

Unfortunately, it seems that these particular fans forgot the rules of the game during this particular performance because there's no other way to explain it.

Words don't do this unforgettable sequence the justice it deserves, so you simply have to watch it for yourself:

It's safe to say that most of us agree with the announcer's bewildered response to this ridiculous tie. Like, seriously, what were these guys doing?

They have a chance to show off their skills in one of the easiest games ever, and they go out and use some complicated strategy that resulted in approximately zero winners.

As former NFL coach Herm Edwards once said, “You play to win the game.” These guys? They did not play to win the game.

Coaches always talking about playing not to lose instead of playing to win, and this was a clear example of playing not to lose. If winning was the goal, then these dudes need to rethink their strategy before displaying it in front of a public crowd of 15,000 or so people.

I'm really not sure where we go from here when it comes to halftime performances, because it's hard to see anyone topping this one.
