The Green Bay Packers have to be thrilled just to have Aaron Rodgers back for the 2021 season. It seemed doubtful at some stages during the offseason.

While there are newer terms with Rodgers' contract with the Packers making his future with the franchise beyond the 2021 season even more unknown, the reigning MVP said Wednesday he doesn't want a “farewell tour.”

This reiterates what Rodgers has said since rejoining the Packers. He is focused on this season and beyond that is anyone's guess. But on Wednesday he made it clear that he doesn't want any sort of farewell tour.

With Rodgers back in the fold, the Packers have as good a shot as any to win the Super Bowl this year. And that seems to be the primary focus for Green Bay at the moment. This thing could tailspin and get ugly but it seems unlikely to be the case given that the Packers have back most of their core pieces from their last two NFC Championship appearances.

The questions about his future won't go away, even when the season does start. When you're the reigning MVP and there's a clear rift with the front office, the speculation will carry on until there is a concrete answer or resolution one way or another.

One thing that remains clear, Rodgers seems to be in a great place mentally and is glad to be back with the Packers; at least for 2021.
