Aaron Rodgers is one of the most gifted quarterbacks to play the game of football. He has one Super Bowl ring to his name, but does the Green Bay Packers signal-caller have something left to prove?

In an article for Sporting News, Joe Rivera made a list of quarterbacks who have the most to prove in the upcoming season. Among those quarterbacks, Rodgers was named one of the quarterbacks with the most to prove in 2019.

To be exact, Rodgers made it in at number eight on Rivera's list. The Sporting News writer explained why the All-Pro quarterback cracked the top-10 list of his.

“Whether or not you buy into the story that broke this offseason of Rodgers vs. Mike McCarthy, one thing is fact: With McCarthy gone, all eyes are on Rodgers and what he does from here.”

“No one should doubt Rodgers' physical ability or his greatness. Lest we forget, the Packers were a Brandon Bostick botched onside kick recovery from another Super Bowl appearance, so it's not as though the cupboard has been completely barren when it comes to success for the Packers during the Rodgers era.”

Albeit, Rodgers is now 35 years old and was given a lucrative extension this offseason that will keep him in Green Bay until he retires (likely). With the hiring of Matt LaFleur, the pressure will be on Rodgers to perform to his elite standards under his new head coach.

The Packers have failed to reach the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2005-2006. Furthermore, Rodgers has a ton to prove to the sports world in 2019. No matter what, Rodgers will go down in history as one of the best throwers in NFL history.

We heard all offseason about how McCarthy was the problem and that's why the offense struggled. Now, Rodgers has a chance to show how that was true. Besides, if Rodgers can remain healthy, he should flourish in LaFleur's offense.

Regardless, in his 15th season in the NFL, Rodgers will have to step up to the plate. In the end, the Packers all-time quarterback will likely deliver in the clutch. With a phenomenal season to silence the critics.
