Brett Favre knows a thing or two about being the Packers franchise quarterback. The Hall of Fame QB has been a vocal figure throughout the tumultuous Aaron Rodgers saga going on in Green Bay.

While Rodgers has since returned to the team as the start of the season looms, his future with the Packers still feels as hazy as it's ever been. Favre recently weighed in on what he thinks needs to happen for his predecessor to stay during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

Via PFT's Mike Florio:

“If he goes in and says, ‘Look, I really think we need to keep this guy,” said the Packers icon. “I really love the rapport I have with him. I trust everything he does on the field and that’s hard to come by. Let’s retain the guy, whatever it takes. Let’s do that.’ I think that’s justifiable, for Aaron to speak up or any guy who’s paid his dues. And I think it would be unwise as an organization to not listen to the guy who’s pulling the trigger.”

Aaron Rodgers' influence in the decision-making process has been one of the biggest contentions between both sides. Favre understands where the front office is coming from, but even he believes they'll cave to keep the Packers star happy going forward.

“You know, your take from a General Manager perspective obviously is different because you’re thinking about the team as a whole, but also the future and the present. So yeah, I certainly think that that’s a tough job, but the guy that’s pulling the trigger for you deserves to be listened to and in some cases, you act on his wishes. So I think that’s what we’re going to see happen from now on.”

We'll just have to wait and see just how much Packers can mend their relationship with Aaron Rodgers throughout the season.
