The Green Bay Packers are looking to extend their four-game winning streak on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9. It appears they are still holding out hope for the return of wide receiver Davante Adams.

Adams has been sidelined since Week 4 with turf toe. Head coach Matt LaFleur provided a comment on his questionable status, via Packers Twitter

“I think everyone will know 90 minutes before kickoff,” LaFleur said Friday.

LaFleur offered a bit more clarity on his recovery.

“In all seriousness, he has made progress,” LaFleur said. “But again, we’re going to take it day by day with him.”

This is certainly an encouraging update for the Packers. Adams has been a limited participant in practice all week. It seems he could finally be on the cusp of making his return for the second half of the 2019 NFL season.

Adams' absence has undoubtedly left a rather notable void in the receiving corps. He had served as the central force of this offense to start the season and was in the midst of a 10-catch, 180-yard performance against the Philadelphia Eagles before suffering the injury. He will now potentially be looking to pick up where he left off against the Chargers.

The only silver lining to Adams' injury is that it essentially forced Green Bay's offense to rely on a more balanced approach. This included getting the run game going early and often in order to supplement their passing attack behind quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Regardless, it is safe to assume that Rodgers will be happy to have his No. 1 weapon back in the mix.
