Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams suffered an injury scare in the fourth quarter against the San Francisco 49ers after a dangerous helmet-to-helmet hit by Jimmie Ward. Fortunately for the team, the star wideout was able to return to the game.

Speaking to reporters after their 30-28 win, Adams addressed the concerns on his injury. While a concussion was ruled as a possibility–considering how hard the hit was and how the 28-year-old was down on the field after the collision–Adams shared that it was his hurt that chest more. He added that he had difficulty breathing, but it was certainly not a concussion.

“How I’m able to get through it is I’m different,” the Packers star said, per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

Midway through the fourth quarter, Aaron Rodgers threw a pass to Davante Adams for what would have been a 45-yard gain. However, the four-time Pro Bowler lost the ball after being hit hard on his head by Jimmie Ward. The officials did not throw a flag, to the shock and disappointment of fans and experts alike, as Adams was left lying on the field before getting treated in the sideline medical tent.

Here's a look at the  scary sequence for the Packers:

For what it's worth, Ward explained after the match that there was no call because he led with his shoulder before noting that it was a “bang-bang play.”

Adams finished the contest with 12 receptions for 132 yards and one touchdown. He was crucial as the Packers escaped with the W behind Mason Crosby's 51-yard field goal. Hopefully, the veteran wideout won't have long-term issues as a result of the scary hit.

The Packers need Adams, and the last thing they want is for their star to be sidelined due to an injury that could have been avoided.
