Aaron Jones is seeking a new contract with the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers is doing his part in getting him one. After Jones posted a career day in Week 2 versus the Detroit Lions, Rodgers spoke highly of the former fifth-round pick.

“He’s just been really, really special to watch,” Packers gunslinger Aaron Rodgers said, via The Rich Eisen Show. “There’s some guys who you can’t help but pull for because they do things the right way. And Jonesy is one of those guys. He is one of the greatest teammates that I’ve had in 16 years. He is the most respectful teammate possibly that we’ve ever had. I mean, he’s still ‘yes sir, no sir’ to so many people– basically everybody older than him around the facility.

This past Sunday, Aaron Jones recorded 236 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns as Green Bay would rout Detroit at home. Even though there weren't any fans in attendance, Jones still proceeded to do the Lambeau Leap on each of his touchdowns.

In the past three seasons, Jones has become a cornerstone player for the Packers. And while he's been a dynamic contributor on the field, Rodgers believes Jones perfectly emulates what it means to play for Green Bay.

“He’s a great representation of our organization and the community. You know, I think he’s made some mistakes, he’s owned up to them. And he is one of the greatest young players we’ve got in our locker room, and such a great kid. You can’t help but pull for him, and just so proud of what he’s accomplished. He adds so much to our team. He’s such a dynamic player and an even better person.”

Throughout the past year, a few running backs that were selected in the 2017 NFL Draft — like Jones — have garnered new extensions from their respective teams. If Jones continues to play at the level he is and continues to get endorsements from Rodgers, he'll have a new deal in place with the Green Bay Packers in no time.
