The Tennessee Titans have acquired linebacker Reggie Gilbert in a trade with the Green Bay Packers, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The Titans sent the Packers a seventh-round pick in return.

Gilbert is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he played all 16 games in a reserve role, registering 38 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Arizona, went undrafted but landed with the Packers as a free agent in May 2016.

He was then cut by Green Bay just before the 2016 campaign began, but in January 2017, the Packers signed him to a reserve/future contract.

Gilbert would go on to spend most of 2017 on Green Bay's practice squad before being activated for a couple of games late in the season, where he logged two tackles and a sack.

He spent four seasons at Arizona, accumulating 144 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, and 14 sacks during his time with the Wildcats.

The Titans already have one of the better defenses in the NFL, so their addition of Gilbert should be seen as nothing more than a depth move.
