The Green Bay Packers have been one of the more vocal teams amid the tragic death of George Floyd. Besides speaking out on the issues at hand, Green Bay wants to continue to find ways to support social justice efforts.

In an article for the team's official website, Mark Murphy — the Packers president and CEO — shared what Green Bay plans on doing to combat racial inequality:

“Shortly after the video was released, I put out a statement regarding these important issues. I didn't want to take away in any way from the video, but wanted to let our fans know how supportive I was of our players and the video. I also wanted to announce that the organization will make a $250,000 grant to support social justice efforts across the state. We will work with our leadership council and the players coalition to identify grassroot organizations that are making a difference on these issues. This is a challenging time for our country (with both the pandemic and racial issues), and it has never been more important for us to come together. I'm proud that our players have taken steps to start this process.”

Earlier this week, Aaron Rodgers responded to Drew Brees' controversial comments about kneeling for the National Anthem. Then, players from the Packers proceeded to post a video. During the video, the players call for change and reforms in law enforcement.

It's important for players, coaches, and front office members from each team to use their platform to incite change. While there is still progress to be made, the Packers are undoubtedly doing their part in helping the cause.
