Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy says it's “no layup” Aaron Rodgers will play on Sunday as the star quarterback missed practice for the second consecutive day due to his knee injury.

Cheeseheads everywhere are worried about their impending Week 2 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. While the Packers will get to play at home, they know the atmosphere won't be the same if Rodgers doesn't suit up. Rodgers has played 20 career game against the Vikings, so he's familiar with their elite defense. He faces them twice a year in the NFC North. Rodgers has gotten the best of them so far, throwing for 40 touchdowns and only six interceptions against them in his career.

The Vikings' defensive line features Everson Griffen, Linval Joseph, Sheldon Richardson and Danielle Hunter. Their strongside linebacker Anthony Barr laid the hit that broke Rodgers' collarbone last season, dashing his team's playoff hopes. Needless to say, there's some bad blood between these two sides.

Earlier this week, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said he expects to play Rodgers come Sunday. He claimed that Rodgers “walks on water” and will always find a way to get on the field. The Packers are doing a good job of keeping his undisclosed injury a secret.

Rodgers described it as a sprained knee and claims to not be taking pain medication for it. Even if this is true, Rodgers won't be able to coast off adrenaline alone for a full NFL game if his injury is more serious than he's letting on.

The Packers will probably keep their final decision under wraps until game day. The Vikings should prepare accordingly.
