The Carolina Panthers are planning to use several different quarterbacks this weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with Sam Darnold being one of them. By no surprise, Cam Newton was asked about Darnold taking reps from him and he responded in the most professional way possible.

Via David Newton of ESPN:

A very good outlook from the Panthers QB. It's out of his control, all Newton can do is go out there and make the most of it. Carolina has been struggling with the veteran at the helm though, losing four straight. Newton started in all of those games.

Darnold meanwhile hasn't played since Week 9 after suffering a shoulder injury. That's why the Panthers went out and signed Newton, who was once a superstar for them. Given how the team is playing right now, it could be a good decision by head coach Matt Rhule to mix it up and use Darnold, Newton, and PJ Walker against the Bucs.

At 5-9, the playoffs are basically out the question but potentially pulling out a statement win vs. Tampa Bay would be huge. In order for that to happen though, it will take an all-around effort from the entire quarterback room on Boxing Day at Bank of America Stadium.
