The Carolina Panthers are set to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 16. It should be a great NFC South showdown with the playoffs growing ever closer. However, with the franchise struggling to find a competent quarterback, Matt Rhule reveals a bold strategy regarding Cam Newton and Sam Darnold.

According to David Newton, the Panthers have announced that Cam Newton will start on Sunday. In fact, he's in line to have “a major role” for the offense for this game. However, Rhule also claims that we should see Darnold on the field as well.

The two-quarterback system has never been great, no matter what level of football you play. Even so, Matt Rhule is sticking with this strategy this season. It's not a great look for a head coach trying to get his team back into playoff consideration. We'll see how it plays out, but the Panthers have put themselves in a tough spot this year with Rhule's decision-making.

Furthermore, Matt Rhule doubles down on his decision to play Sam Darnold, per David Newton. Apparently, the Panthers' head coach believes having Darnold and Newton play is “in the best interest of the team.”

Carolina was red hot at the beginning of the season but has completely fallen off the face of the cliff since then. The Panthers have a ton of great young players on the roster and the future is bright in Carolina. However, Rhule's indecisiveness on the quarterback position might have cost this team a spot in the playoffs.

We'll see how their next game against the Buccaneers plays out. Tampa Bay is going to come out angry and determined to put the Panthers away. However, Carolina will do anything to upset their division rival.
