Everyone has begun to come up with hypothetical situations where Tom Brady could play in 2020 following the New England Patriots being eliminated from the playoffs. A former Patriots player joined the discussion as Drew Bledsoe named two ideal landing spots for Brady.

“I think it would be strange for everybody if that happened,” he told the Zach Gelb Show Tuesday. “If he does decide he’s going to go someplace else, it has to be a very specific fit. They’ve got to have most of the pieces in place already. He’s not going to go to a rebuild. Outside of [Los Angeles and Indianapolis], it’s kind of hard to envision him going someplace else.”

Many people have highlighted the Los Angeles Chargers and Indianapolis Colts as two possible teams he could play for in 2020. It appears that Bledsoe shares the same opinion as he listed the Chargers and Colts as the two best situations for Brady.

Brady has spent 20 seasons with the Patriots and is set to become an unrestricted free agent. This will be the first time in his career that he will have a choice of where he plays. The future Hall of Famer still has a chance to return to New England, but he understands that he could have played his final game at Gillette Stadium last Saturday.

Despite turning 43-years-old in 2020, Brady will be a viable option for quarterback-needy teams. Among them, Los Angeles and Indianapolis do make sense for the veteran signal-caller.

The Chargers are undecided about what they want to do with Philip Rivers. If they choose to allow him to walk in free agency, Brady could step in and become the starter. At the least, Brady would be able to play near his hometown of San Mateo, California.

On the other hand, the Colts have a talented roster that is in need of a reliable quarterback. Jacoby Brissett started for them in 2020, but the team has already discussed making a change in the offseason.

If Brady were to retire, he would undoubtedly be on his way to Canton in five years. But with retirement not being an option, there are a few scenarios that could happen.
