The New England Patriots are great at finding diamonds in the rough, and it's looking like receiver Jakobi Meyers could be their next one. Meyers has been on the receiving end of a ton of praise during camp, and he might be Bill Belichick's latest undrafted gem.

Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report recently listed one UDFA who is turning heads in training camp for each team, and he listed Meyers for the Patriots. As Moton notes, Meyers started his college career at quarterback before turning into a wideout at N.C. State.

Of course, Julian Edelman is also a former quarterback, so the Patriots have plenty of experience with these type of guys. Meyers has nice size to him, and Moton writes that all of the reports out of Patriots camp are that he has been outplaying first-round pick N'Keal Harry in practice.

Moton also highlights the fact that Meyers has been getting reps in practice with Tom Brady. The Pats wouldn't waste those reps on a player they aren't serious about, so there's clearly some fire with all this Meyers smoke.

That being said, it's still early and we shouldn't get too out of control. The Meyers hype has been a nice story thus far, but it's way too early to be declaring him the next great Patriots receiver and Harry a bust.

The preseason hasn't even started yet, and that's where Meyers will really need to make his mark.

If he shows out during exhibition action as well, then we'll know we have something real on our hands here.
