The New England Patriots are off to a fantastic 3-0 start. Not only are they winning, but they're also dominating their opponents.

Through three games, New England is outscoring their opponents 106-17. Fourteen of those points allowed were to the New York Jets in Week 3. They came off a muffed punt and a pick-six of backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham.

The worst news of the game for the Patriots wasn't in the scores they allowed though. It was an injury — specifically, an injury to wide receiver Julian Edelman.

Edelman left the Week 3 contest with the Jets at the end of the first half due to a rib injury. He didn't return.

It appears it wasn't anything too serious though, as the slot man returned to practice on Wednesday.

This is great news for the Patriots, as they face their toughest challenge of the season so far in Week 4. They're going up against AFC East divisional rivals, the Buffalo Bills. Not only are they divisional rivals, but the Bills are a fellow undefeated team, rocking the 3-0 record that the Patriots boast.

New England will want to have all hands on deck for this game. That means having one of the best slot receivers the NFL has seen in a long time.

Edelman gives quarterback Tom Brady perhaps his most reliable target. He's also a perfect complement to the dangerous deep threat that is Josh Gordon.

The former seventh-round pick has 516 career receptions and is already putting together a strong 2019 campaign. Despite missing a large chunk of the third game of the year, Edelman already has 17 receptions on the season.

It looks like he'll get to continue building that number in Week 4 against the Bills.
