Atlanta Hawks forward Paul Millsap is slated to be out at least three more games after being diagnosed with left knee synovitis following visits to team doctors and the renowned Dr. James Andrews in Florida, according to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The 6-foot-8 forward underwent a non-surgical procedure and will be re-evaluated after his three-game absence, missing games against the Phoenix Suns, Philadelphia 76ers, and Chicago Bulls.

If the timeline is concrete, Millsap would be able to come back by Sunday's game against the Brooklyn Nets, though the team might take the precaution to sit him out an extra game and give him four days of added rest before they face the Boston Celtics at home on April 6.

Millsap has missed the past five games with what the Hawks had called left knee tightness. The continued swelling in his knee has caused the four-time All-Star to miss a substantial span, as the team has struggled as of recent — losing the last seven games (all five since his absence) and 10 of their last 13.

The team has used stretch-four Ersan Ilyasova at the position, but it has proved difficult to make up for his veteran savvy and uncanny flair for the intangibles, often rounding out his floor game with blocks, steals, and countless deflections.

Atlanta has given up an average of 103.8 points per game to their opponents while only scoring 95.2 points per game since his five-game absence, reaching the 100-point mark only once.
