Although he hasn't yet achieved the ultimate success in the NBA which is winning the championship, Paul Millsap has been around the league long enough to know what it takes to reach that goal, which he believes his new team, the Denver Nuggets, are on the right path towards that direction. After all, he's been part of the playoffs in nine of his 11 seasons in the league so far in his career.

In a video posted on the Nuggets' YouTube channel in which Millsap was being interviewed by Nuggets writer, Christopher Dempsey, the 11-year veteran expressed his optimism of Denver's future to the point that he said that over time, the Nuggets are going to surpass the 2014-15 version of the Atlanta Hawks that he was part of and one that went on to win 60 games in a season.

“Especially with the younger guys that we have now in Denver, the growth is unbelievable. The sky is the limit. I think this team can be a lot better than that team. That was a 60-win team, so you know. I’m coming in this thing with high hopes, knowing and understanding what the situation is and knowing that we can be that team.”

Reaching that kind of success, however, heavily depends on how well Millsap will repay the three-year $90 million deal the Nuggets gave him this summer with his play on the court. While Millsap will be surrounded by talented up-and-comers, he's now clearly the leader of this Nuggets squad that finished the 2016-17 regular season ninth in the Western Conference with a 40-42 record.

With Millsap all set to be paired up with Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets are expected to parade one of the best frontcourts in the league today. Millsap has career averages of 18.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game.
