Things just keep getting worse for the New Orleans Pelicans.

Not only are they having a miserable 2018-19 campaign, but now, superstar Anthony Davis will be sidelined for one-to-two weeks due to a finger injury he suffered during a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Davis will re-evaluate the hand injury in three or four days to determine whether or not he needs to see a hand specialist.

The big man finished with 27 points and seven rebounds over 36 minutes while making nine of his 17 field-goal attempts in the 128-112 defeat to the Blazers.

On the year overall, Davis is averaging 29.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.6 blocks and 1.7 steals across 37 minutes per game while shooting 50.8 percent from the floor, 32.5 percent from three-point range and 81.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Of course, rumors are swirling around the 25-year-old, who can opt out of his contract and become a free agent during the summer of 2020. With the Pelicans not getting any better and not having any young talent to support Davis on the roster, it's looking more and more like The Brow may be playing elsewhere within the next two years.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics are both considered possible destinations for Davis should New Orleans decide to move him this coming summer, although Davis has not given any indication that he wants to be traded. At least not publicly, anyway.

After the loss to Portland, the Pelicans now own a record of just 21-25 and are four games behind the Lakers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
