Anthony Davis isn't just working on his game ahead of the 2018-19 season. The New Orleans Pelicans star is also laying the foundation for his future, piece by piece.

As reported by ESPN's Brian Windhorst and Ramona Shelburne, the All-Star big man has decided to go separate ways with his long-time agent Thad Foucher.

New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis has parted ways with longtime agent Thad Foucher, sources told ESPN.

To officially change agents, players are required to file paperwork with the player's union and then wait 15 days. Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, who represents LeBron James among others, is a leading contender to represent Davis, sources said.

For the Pelicans, this should not come as a cause for concern. The organization still has Davis' services locked in for two more seasons, at the least, as the final year of his deal which falls in 2020-21 is a player option. He is set to earn $52 million over the next two years while his player option is worth $29 million.

Both Davis and the Pelicans are coming off impressive campaigns in 2017-18. Davis finished third in Most Valuable Player votes, behind LeBron James and eventual winner James Harden. Davis was an absolute monster on both ends for the Pelicans, averaging 28.1 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.6 blocks per game last year.

While he has developed a reputation of being injury prone, the former Kentucky Wildcat appears to be on the right track of shedding that image. Over the past two seasons, Davis has managed to play in 75 games each.
