Early on, it looked as though New Orleans Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins' only highlight versus the New York Knicks would be the bizarre turnover that led to him being posterized by center Enes Kanter. Fortunately, Cousins managed to make up for it with a stellar performance en route to a 123-118 overtime victory on Sunday.

The Pelicans' star big man finished with a spectacular stat line of 15 points, 16 rebounds, and five assists. He also managed to pour on a career-high seven steals to go with three blocks. According to NBA Redditor Shitty_Ms_Paint, the only player to ever to put up those kinds of numbers is NBA Hall of Famer and Houston Rockets legend Hakeem Olajuwon:

Cousins just had a pretty crazy statline which I don't think I've ever seen before, so I decided to check basketball-reference to see who else has done this.

Cousins had 15/16/5 with 7 steals and 3 blocks

The only player to have something similar to this was Hakeem when he had 38/17/6 with 7 steals and 12 blocks

Surprisingly, Hakeem lost that game.

Needless to say, “The Dream” manages to trump Cousins' stat line by a pretty wide margin. However, Olajuwon was known for terrific outings like those as the central player on Houston's team at the time.

Meanwhile, DeMarcus Cousins has had to share the spotlight with fellow Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis. “The Brow” finished with 48 points and 17 rebounds while fortifying the defensive end with four steals and three blocks. More importantly, the Pelicans managed to win their game at Madison Square Garden.
