New Orleans Pelicans forward Derrick Favors will be held out of Wednesday night's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, according to a report from ESPN's Andrew Lopez.

Favors rejoined the team over the weekend after missing time to deal with the death of his mother, but he did not play on Monday night. The team is asking the former No. 3 overall pick to work on his conditioning a bit before taking the floor in a game setting again.

In his nine appearances with the Bucks this season, Favors has racked up averages of 8.3 points on 62.1 percent shooting from the field (50.0 percent from beyond the arc), 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 21.0 minutes per outing.

The Pelicans were hoping to make a run at the playoffs this season, but they're currently 6-18 and riding the wave of a nine-game losing streak. The Bucks, on the other hand, have racked up 15 consecutive wins, which is their longest winning streak since winning 16 in a row over two seasons in 1973. According to Milwaukee's franchise record of 20 straight wins was set during the 1970-71 campaign.

Some reports have been released indicating that there are several interested teams “monitoring” Favors' status as the trade deadline draws near. Whether or not he'll be dealt remains to be seen.

Wednesday night's matchup between the Pelicans and Bucks is scheduled to tip inside the Fiserv Forum at 9:30 p.m. ET, with ESPN having live broadcast coverage.
