Zion Williamson delivered the dagger dunk in the New Orleans Pelicans' impressive 101-94 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers at Smoothie King Arena on Friday.

The home team was only clinging to a six-point advantage with 1:16 left in the fourth period, so the Pelicans knew they needed a bucket in that possession. Fortunately, they found the right man for the job to deliver the goods. After initially struggling to inbound the basketball, All-Star Brandon Ingram found his favorite running mate Williamson.

The 6-foot-7 freak athlete made a quick move upon receiving the pass, as he managed to get around both Danny Green and Joel Embiid on his way to the rack. Williamson delivered the finishing blow in the most Zion-way possible, ending the Sixers' comeback hopes with a ferocious two-handed hammer.

Sixers forward Tobias Harris actually came over from the weak side but made the correct business decision of not contesting Zion Williamson mid-air. The Pelicans' sophomore sensation had another mammoth outing against the powerhouse Sixers, recording a game-high 37 points along with 15 rebounds and eight assists in 35 minutes. He also got some help from Ingram, who finished with 17 points.

The win improved New Orleans' record to 23-29 and snapped their two-game skid in the process. However, they still have a lot of ground to cover, considering they are currently out of the play-in picture at 11th place in the West. But as long as Williamson keeps delivering dagger dunks like this one, the Pelicans will have a shot at making it to the postseason this year.
