New Orleans Pelicans young stud Zion Williamson is built like a defensive lineman. It has been a scary sight for everyone trying to stop the 20-year-old in the block. Williamson, who actually played some football in high school, admitted his experience in the gridiron has helped him immensely in the NBA.

In a story by Yahoo! Sports, Williamson also revealed why he likes playing defense more.

“I played quarterback and safety. I honestly liked playing defense better because I was able to deliver the hit, and not get it.”

In just his second year in the NBA, the 285-pound Williamson has quickly become one of the most dominant guys. The former first overall pick has made a living in the paint and has manhandled his opponents with his combination of strength and agility.

Zion Williamson’s stats have been nothing but impressive. Out of the 26.4 points he's averaging per game this season, 74.8% has come from inside the paint. And looking at his frame, it's not really difficult to see him score more at will. Williamson, however, said he continuously makes sure that he uses his heft wisely and efficiently.

“It’s the low angles. It’s making the proper cut when you need to make it, so I’m not charging anybody. I’m drawing a blocking foul or putting them in a position where they either have to foul me, or they’re gonna have to let me go. I take that part from football.”

Combining his football-ready physique with his basketball skills, it's only a matter of time until Zion Williamson takes over the entire NBA.
