Facing a deadline on the future of their two young stars, the Detroit Pistons decided to pick up their options on Stanley Johnson and Henry Ellenson for this coming season.

Stanley Johnson is now entering his third season in the league, and has slowly, but surely, shown his true potential to the Pistons after being selected eighth overall in the 2015 draft. He has appeared in 150 games and has career averages of 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

Henry Ellenson on the other hand was the 18th overall pick last year by the Pistons. He only appeared in 19 games as he had multiple assignments to the team's G-League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Drive. Although he did not see a lot of action in the NBA, he remains a project and could be developed into a consistent stretch four in the future.

Both players could be in line for a bigger role this coming season, as the Pistons' coaching staff will gauge how they'll fit in their future plans.
