Just give the rook some time in the spotlight! Seven-year NBA veteran Andre Drummond and Detroit Pistons teammate Bruce Brown Jr. interrupted second-year guard Khyri Thomas during a one-on-one interview with NBA TV.

Thomas — who was soaking up an on-court interview after scoring a game-high 26 points against Croatia's men's basketball team in the summer league — had some of his shine stolen by his teammates.

The Pistons acquired Thomas, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Creighton University, in the 2018 NBA Draft after getting selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 38th overall pick. Detroit selected 6-foot-5 wing Bruce Brown with their own second-round pick in the same draft four spots later.

Thomas only appeared in 26 games during his rookie season with Detroit. He was a mainstay on the Pistons' G League affiliate squad, the Grand Rapids Drive.

Brown, meanwhile, became part of head coach Dwane Casey's rotation, playing in 74 games during his freshman year and starting in 56 of them. Brown scored 12 points and dished out seven assists in the same Summer League game against Croatia alongside Thomas.

The Pistons are attempting to rebuild their franchise after being a fringe-playoff-contending team for some time. Under Casey who took over last season, Detroit lost in the first round of the 2019 playoffs to the Milwaukee Bucks in a four-game sweep.
