Oakland Raiders mercurial wide receiver Antonio Brown has missed a chunk of training camp due to a previously undisclosed injury. In the past 24 hours, light has shed onto his situation; Brown has suffered a foot injury, specifically frostbite. The severity of the damage is unknown; frostbite is more likely to occur on one trekking Mt. Everest, not a football player training.

The receiver developed the ailment due to using incorrect footwear while in a cryotherapy machine. Brown recently revealed pictures of his feet, with the shedding of skin and blisters at the forefront.

Nobody quite knows how long Brown will be out with frostbite. Currently, head coach Jon Gruden is “gathering information” on his foot condition, via Scott Blair of NBCSportsBayArea.com. According to Blair, Gruden “refused to speculate on his readiness” for the regular season. Other than that, Gruden has been mum about the subject, as well as the rest of the team. All that is known is that Brown is on the NFI (non-football injury) list without a definite date for return.

Brown's frostbitten feet is another chapter of a hectic offseason. In the span of a few months, Brown began trade demands from the Pittsburgh Steelers, bleached his mustache, almost got traded to the Buffalo Bills, then landed with the Raiders and got a bump up in pay. The Raiders made Brown the focal point of their offseason roster overhaul and got him fitting running mates to boot, without AB, their offense isn't the same. Hopefully, the former “Madden” cover boy will be back for real football.
