There were rumors during Super Bowl week about Los Angeles Rams superstar Aaron Donald possibly retiring. While the belief now is that Donald won't retire and will be back for the 2022 NFL season, he's seeking a new contract and isn't at the start of Monday's OTAs.

However, Rams head coach Sean McVay said Monday the “dialogue's good” with Donald, per Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network. This echoes what McVay said on the matter a month ago.

Donald has three years left on his contract, but he wants a bigger contract after playing such a key role in leading the Rams to their Super Bowl victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. The superstar defensive tackle could have easily won Super Bowl MVP instead of Cooper Kupp and is still at the top of his game.

The Rams star racked up 12.5 sacks this past season and 3.5 during the playoff run. Donald has been to the Pro Bowl in all eight of his NFL seasons and is a seven-time First-Team All-Pro player. He owns three Defensive Player of the Year Awards.

Donald's 31st birthday is Monday, so he's likely taking the time to celebrate as the Rams begin OTAs. He would surely love to celebrate a mammoth new contract soon with Los Angeles.
