After spending several seasons in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the Los Angeles Rams are ready to move into their new home for the upcoming season. The newly-built SoFi Stadium will serve as the home turf for both the Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers starting in 2020. The Rams recently conducted their first practice in the stadium as part of the team's build-up leading to Week 1 action.

Rams quarterback Jared Goff raved about the new structural marvel:

“It was really amazing,” Goff said. “It’s truly unbelievable and truly one of the crown jewels in sports right now.”

“As a quarterback, anytime it’s indoors you love it,” he said. “And it’s a little bit of both — there’s that little breeze you can feel at times. But it is fairly indoors for the most part. The ball jumps here.”

Rams head coach McVay also bared his opinion on the stadium:

“Never seen anything like it,” McVay said.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has prevented fans from appearing in stadiums for the most part of the upcoming season. NFL teams have to improvise in order to replicate the actual game-day atmosphere amidst the present-day circumstances.

McVay also expressed his dismay over the seemingly fake environment that they all have to deal with in the upcoming season:

“There’s nothing like real crowd noise,” he said, “In some instances, that fake crowd noise is nothing but irritating.”

The $5 billion stadium has a seating capacity of around 70,000 seats, with the ability to expand it with 30,000 additional seats for larger events. It is also scheduled to host Super Bowl LVI in February 2022.

The first NFL game slated to be played on SoFi Stadium will be on September 13 as the Rams open the season against the Dallas Cowboys.

Due to the present-day circumstances, it will take L.A. fans a little longer before they get to see the stadium in person. Nonetheless, the long wait will certainly turn out to be worthwhile.
