Los Angeles Rams punter Johnny Hekker now owns a Super Bowl record for longest punt after he nailed a 65-yard blast in the third quarter against the New England Patriots.

In what has been a surprisingly low-scoring affair, the Rams are trying to find some offense in hopes of finally getting their first point on the board.

And in what's been a huge surprise, it's been the punters that have been the talk of the game thus far, with the two players on both sides getting a ton of work in through three quarters.

As for Hekker, one of his kicks will go down in history since he's the new record holder for the longest punt in the NFL's biggest game.

It's hard to believe that this game could feature the punter as an MVP candidate, but that's where things are at given how efficient the two defenses have been thus far.

The Rams just haven't been able to build any momentum at all, and there's no doubt that Los Angeles fans are just waiting for a breakthrough play that could change the entire game.

Perhaps Hekker will have to make that play considering that he's been one of the most impactful players on the field.
