Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay is feeling great about having Matthew Stafford on the team. He couldn't even stop himself from bursting into a profanity-laced giddiness when he spoke about the team's new signal-caller during an interview with Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.

“Bro, this dude’s a bad MF-er,” McVay told Breer, laughing. “Whatever people say about him, as good as it can be, he’s even better than advertised. It makes sense to him. The guy’s ability to see the game, his ability to draw on his experiences, the feel that he has, it’s pretty special and unique. And man, his feel for people, his authentic way of connecting with his teammates, his coaches, this guy, it’s great being around him.”

Stafford arrived in Hollywood in January 2020 after he was traded by the Detroit Lions to the Rams for Jared Goff and three draft picks. Stafford, who played all his first 11 seasons in the NFL with the Lions, will look to help resuscitate the Rams' offense that failed to keep up with its stout defense in 2020. That season, McVay's squad averaged just 23.3 points per game and was only 26th in pass play percentage.

Expect more passing plays in the coming 2021 NFL season for the Rams with Stafford under center, though the team could still have a prominent rushing attack with Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson sharing the load on the ground.

In any case, the Rams believe that Stafford is going to unlock the team's air attack.
