Bobby Wagner signing with the Los Angeles Rams this offseason was a huge move for the defending champs. Los Angeles lost Von Miller and Eric Weddle so adding a star linebacker such as Wagner will pay huge dividends for them. According to Wagner, a couple of key Rams defenders enticed him into joining the team once he entered free agency, per The Athletic.

“As soon as … the Seahawks released me, I had Aaron Donald hit me up and Jalen Ramsey hit me up.”

Donald and Ramsey are two of the most essential pieces to the puzzle in LA. Donald is a future Hall of Famer who led the Rams to their Super Bowl victory. Ramsey is an All-Pro caliber talent who excels at causing havoc for opposing offenses. The duo displayed leadership by contacting Wagner.

“so they (opened) communications pretty quick. I won’t go into details about what they said, but it was just (about) how they admired my game and if this was an opportunity for me to come to L.A., I should check it out. That’s kind of what I did.”

Recruiting players is a process of free agency fans tend to overlook. Donald and Ramsey taking the time to talk to Wagner about playing in LA is the kind of under the radar gesture that may be swept under the rug in the long run. However, it also could lead to the Rams having one of the best defenses in the NFL next season. Watching Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, and Bobby Wagner all on the same team together will be worth the price of admsision alone.
