The Los Angeles Rams are coming off their second straight loss that has put their chances at securing the top overall spot in the conference come playoff time and also a first-round bye up in the air heading into the final two games of the regular season.

There has also been chatter surrounding the availability of star running back Todd Gurley, as he's dealing with a leg injury that has already kept him off the practice field this week. This was once again the case on Thursday as he sat out practice, according to Gary Klein of The LA Times.

The fact that Gurley was not on the field draws questions as to his availability for this week's game as the team has been quite cautious with the injury over the last few days. Head coach Sean McVay has already come out to state that the Rams don't want to risk the Pro Bowler's availability for the playoffs. Gurley is a big part of the puzzle and his absence in the postseason would be quite impactful to the team's ability to get to the Super Bowl.

He has been their workhorse running back that much of the game plan has been run through. Gurley has become one of the league's best players at his position and put together yet another highly productive campaign where he is currently second in the league with 1,251 rushing yards along with being first with 17 rushing touchdowns.

If he were to be limited or not able to play this week against the Arizona Cardinals, it could see recently acquired running back C.J. Anderson get a heavy workload. McVay has already voiced that he plans on getting Anderson on the field in some sort of capacity in this week's action.
