Los Angeles Rams had an up and down first game of the season, but after the game said he felt good with the performance.

Through the first three quarters, the Rams weren't using Gurley a ton and he only had six carries for 33 yards and also a catch for four yards. Malcolm Brown was getting more run, but during the fourth quarter is when Gurley took over the game.

He had a big quarter and ended the game with 97 yards and was a big reason the Rams were able to hold on against the Carolina Panthers.

“Felt good,” Brown said curtly when asked about his performance via the LA Times.

There was a report before the game that Rams didn't know how exactly Gurley's knee was going to react. Going forward if Brown continues to play well, this could be the same strategy they use going forward. Give Brown a ton of run early in the game, and late in the game when the team really needs them, they turn to Gurley.

“There’s a lot of outside noise around him obviously, but we felt confident with him inside the team and he showed it today he looked like he always does today,” Goff said. “I tried to tell everyone he looks exactly the same, and no one wanted to believe me.”

Of course, the Rams want Gurley to play as much as possible, but they also know they need him to be healthy during the stretch of the season, something that wasn't the case last year.
