After an ugly first season following their move to Los Angeles, Todd Gurley and the Los Angeles Rams bounced back with a vengeance in 2017. Gurley once again became one of the NFL's elite backs with an incredible season that thrust him into the MVP conversation with New England Patriots superstar, Tom Brady.

Unfortunately for Gurley, Brady was ultimately named the NFL MVP for the third time. However, the Rams star running back believes he should've won the award as he told Sam Alipour of ESPN The Magazine in a wide-ranging interview.

You were runner-up for MVP last year. You want that award too?

Yeah, I definitely wanted it, man, and I felt like I deserved it, but it went to the G.O.A.T., and I can't be mad at that. I just gotta keep working hard and do the same thing again this season, if not even better.

At 40 years old, Brady led the Patriots to another Super Bowl appearance. New England ultimately fell to the Philadelphia Eagles who also had an MVP candidate in quarterback Carson Wentz before he went down with an ACL injury against the Rams in December.

The Patriots superstar finished the regular season with 4,577 yards, 32 touchdowns, and only eight interceptions in 16 games. Another vintage performance by a seemingly ageless quarterback.

Gurley ended his best season to date with unbelievable stats both as a runner and receiver. The Georgia product racked up a career-high 1,305 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. He was also one of Jared Goff's favorite targets in the passing game with 64 receptions for 788 yards and six touchdowns.

The Pro Bowler finished with a total of 2,093 yards from scrimmage and 19 touchdowns. An MVP-caliber season, to say the least.
