Through his first few years in the NFL, Los Angeles Rams Pro Bowl defensive tackle Aaron Donald has established himself as one of the premier defensive players in the league.

Despite being away from the team due to his current contract situation, he has continued to stay in shape during the NFL offseason. With that in mind, Donald showed off his impressive strength by bench pressing 495 pounds.

This is a testament to Donald's work ethic has helped make significant progress in his first four campaigns to become of the best talents that can heavily impact the game. It has seen him earn four Pro Bowl selections, three First-Team All-Pro nods, and the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award this past season. In fact, he has become a game-changing talent that has become the anchor of the Rams defense that the team is hoping to continue to build around over the next several seasons.

However, what has remained is the lack of true progress toward hammering out a new lucrative extension to keep him under contract for the long haul. Los Angeles has continued to speak optimistically about the situation with eyes toward making him the highest-paid defensive player in the league. The only question that remains is likely finding that figure amount that both can agree upon to get this lingering situation finally out of the way.

These next few weeks ahead of the start of training camp could provide the necessary time frame for the extension talk to work toward having a new deal in place this offseason before the start of next campaign. This may be something that will get done in the near future with an extension that will more than likely topple the six-year, $114.1 million deal that Pro Bowl outside linebacker Von Miller received from the Denver Broncos.
