Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green are no strangers to finals appearances, as the Toronto Raptors duo is advancing to their third such event after making a couple of trips to the finals with the San Antonio Spurs in 2013 and 2014, the latter of which resulted in a championship.

But in 2017, Leonard and Green may have been on their way to yet another finals berth had disaster not struck.

With the Spurs leading the Golden State Warriors by 23 points during the second half of Game 1 of the 2017 Western Conference Finals, Leonard came down on the foot of Warriors big man Zaza Pachulia after a jump shot and severely sprained his ankle, knocking him out for the rest of the game and that series.

Golden State rallied to win Game 1 and then went on to sweep San Antonio with Leonard out of the picture.

Of course, no one can say for sure if the Spurs would have won that series, and the general consensus is that the Warriors still would have beaten San Antonio over the course of seven games regardless, and Danny Green isn't saying what would have happened either way:

“Woulda, coulda, shoulda,” said Green, according to Tim Bontemps of ESPN. “It would have been nice to see what happened.”

One thing is for sure: the Spurs certainly would not have gotten swept, as they probably would have won Game 1 and would have likely won at least one other game in the series.

Again, the Dubs still probably would have emerged victorious, but it definitely would have been interesting to see how things would have turned out if Leonard was healthy.
