Danny Green is part of the trade that sent Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors, and he understands because of the trade what type of pressure Leonard is going to be under. Danny Green told Jeff McDonald of the Express News that he is excited to be joining the Raptors but it doesn't really matter what he does this season, the pressure is all on Leonard.

“There's going to be a magnifying glass on him now,” Green said on Thursday to McDonald. “He's going to be expected to do great things. I'm going to do all I can to help.”

Leonard spent most of last season injured and it's what ultimately made his relationship with the San Antonio Spurs unable to be repaired.

It led to people inside the organization and locker room turning on each other and was really an uncomfortable decision for all involved. Green admits it was awkward for everyone, and he still isn't exactly sure what happened.

“It was an awkward situation,” Green said. “His decision, I still don't know exactly what happened.”

Maybe the fresh start in Toronto is what will be best for Leonard but he seems to be less than thrilled to be going north of the border.

The Raptors are going to be playing in a weak Eastern Conference this year and if Leonard does decide to play they are going to be a tough competitor to the Boston Celtics.

Maybe the Raptors will win just enough and Leonard will fall in love with the city, and his stay will be more than a year in Toronto.
