The Martin Luther King Jr. Day matchup between the Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers turned out to be very hotly contested as both teams combined for eight technical fouls. Kyle Lowry and Ben Simmons were both ejected from the game as well with only six seconds remaining after the two exchanged some harsh words at center court and continued their conversation in the tunnel.

While the Sixers point guard has been impressive since making his debut for the team this season, Lowry doesn’t think he’s done enough yet consider himself as someone who has already proven something in the league, according to Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun.

Lowry and the Raptors ultimately lost on the night, 117-111, which could explain why he was very frustrated during the final six seconds. He did have a decent outing despite missing their previous two games due to a back injury as he finished with 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in 37 minutes of action. The former LSU star on the other hand recorded 12 points, one rebound, four assists, two steals and two blocked shots.

The comments made by Lowry will only make things more interesting when both teams meet again. With their game on Monday being their last this regular season, it can be expected that both players will be fired up next year or even in the playoffs should the Raptors and Sixers be matched up by then, depending on the seedings and if they both make it that far.
