Martin Luther King Jr. Day's early slate of games has turned some of the brightest NBA stars a little out of their element, as the recent return Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors and rookie Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers were ejected with six seconds left in the game, as the two met at half-court and exchanged some harsh words at the end of a hectic outing.

Simmons and Lowry were double-teched and tossed from the game after their late on-court antics, with the game already sealed in the Sixers' favor. Following the ejections, it appears as though Lowry and Simmons met in the tunnels to discuss what they started to on the court before they were kicked out.

Counting both double-techs from these two respective stars, there were eight technicals assessed in this frantic Eastern Conference matchup.

Even the end of the game was somehow full of oddities, as the Sixers couldn't seem to pull away, despite a numeric advantage in transition, resulting in a pair of Joel Embiid free throws, which brought his total to 34 points, giving Philly a seven-point lead.

Lowry had missed the last three games with a back injury and struggled, shooting just 3-of-16 from the floor, while Simmons racked up an unconvincing performance with 10 points and six turnovers in 27 minutes of action.

Both players will surely pay for their late-game tirade with one another, likely costing them a few thousand for each technical foul, plus another fine for the ejection.

Sometimes it's better to wait out the pent-up aggression, and both of these players will likely think twice as the game comes to a close before meriting another send-off from the officials.
