NBA champion point guard Kyle Lowry had something special in store for Toronto Raptors diehard Leslie Bottrell on Mother's Day.

Bottrell is currently working to fight COVID-19 at Saint Joseph's Medical Hospital in Yonkers, New York. Unfortunately, Bottrell's brave work has forced her to be away from her children on this day.

However, the Raptors star surprised Bottrell during her interview with ESPN's Tom Rinaldi, thanking her for the work she is doing to combat the spread of coronavirus. Lowry called it his “pride and joy” to speak with Bottrell.

Bottrell explained in the video that she sent her children back to her childhood home in Ontario, Canada as soon as NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio announced the city was closing its schools.

But while nothing can make up for the absence of her children, Bottrell still must have felt grateful to receive a message of love and support from the Raptors playmakers

The tireless efforts of frontline workers such as Bottrell should never go unnoticed as the world battles this pandemic. For his part, Kyle Lowry was sure to share his own gratitude with Bottrell and wish her well on Mother's Day.
