Marcus Peters is currently preparing to face Patrick Mahomes as a member of the Baltimore Ravens, but he was once his teammate with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ahead of Monday night's much-anticipated between the Ravens and the Chiefs, Peters spoke about watching Mahomes practice as a rookie, expressing his respect for the gunslinging quarterback.

“I remember when he first started throwing the no-look passes at practice,” Peters said, via SI.com. “The dude is amazing. . . . I respect somebody who loves the game like Mahomes does.”

Peters began his career with the Chiefs, as the No. 18 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Peters recorded a career-best eight interceptions and 26 pass breakups.

Ever since he arrived in the NFL, Peters has proven to be one of the best ball-hawking cornerbacks in the NFL. On the other hand, Mahomes was showing signs of being a supreme talent in his rookie season with the Chiefs in 2017—Peters' third and final season in Kansas City.

Even though Mahomes was backing up Alex Smith in 2017, Peters and the other members of Kansas City's defense got a chance to see the young signal-caller in practice. Before he was making the jaw-dropping throws in meaningful games, Mahomes was doing it against his own defense.

The last time we saw the Ravens and Chiefs face one another, Kansas City was able to secure a narrow 33-28 victory over Baltimore. However, the last time they squared off, Peters wasn't with them and Jimmy Smith wasn't able to suit up.

Provided that, John Harbaugh believes Baltimore's defense will look a lot different than it did in Week 3 of the 2019 season. With that being said, while Peters is going to be tasked with slowing down Mahomes and Kansas City's high-octane offense, he has respect for the 25-year-old phenom.
