The L.A. Clippers announced earlier this afternoon that star power forward Blake Griffin underwent successful surgery to remove loose bodies from his right knee.

The team originally called said he would miss 3-6 weeks, but that timetable has now been updated to 4-6 weeks. The 4-6 week timetable would have Griffin return sometime January 17th and January 31st. L.A. will have played 15 more games by January 17th, including tonight's matchup against the Denver Nuggets.

Griffin played in 26 of the 28 games for the Clippers so far this season, putting up 21.1 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists and one steal per game on 48% shooting from the field and a career-high 74.9% from the free throw line.

In Griffin's absence, Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan, and J.J. Redick will collectively lead L.A. while players like Jamal Crawford, Austin Rivers, and Marreese Speights will be asked to do more.
