The San Antonio Spurs have signed shooting guard Manu Ginobili to a two-year, $5 million deal to return to the team, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical. The terms of his contract are fully guaranteed.

The 40-year-old was reportedly coming back for his last season after taking the summer to debate his playing future, but this deal could possibly give him the Tim Duncan treatment, paying him for his first year of retirement.

Ginobili showed he still had some gas in the tank, playing added minutes in the absence of Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker, showing flashes of his own self, scoring 17, 21, and 15 in three of the four games against the Golden State Warriors during the Western Conference Finals.

The Argentinian has been a staple of the franchise during his 15 NBA seasons, and while he's become a slimmer part of the rotation, his value with the franchise and the community has proved to be incomparable.

Ginobili shot under 40 percent from the floor for the first time on his career, but kept his touch sharp from beyond the arc, nailing a steady 39.2 percent from deep to go with a clean 80.4 percent from the stripe. He averaged 7.5 points per game in 18.7 minutes off the bench.
