Free agent center Roy Hibbert has reportedly agreed to join the Charlotte Hornets for one year at $5 million.

Last season, he struggled to regain his all-star form, in his lone season with the Lakers. He will try to resurrect his career in Charlotte under coach Steve Clifford and his assistant, Hibbert's fellow Georgetown alumni, Patrick Ewing.

The Hornets have reached out to other free agent centers but chose Hibbert for his shot blocking ability, which they desperately need, especially after the departure of Al Jefferson. He might have had low statistics last season for points and rebounds, but his average blocks are still very respectable. He managed 5.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in just 23 minutes of action per game.
