One of the biggest questions the NBA will face this coming offseason is whether or not Giannis Antetokounmpo will sign an extension with the Milwaukee Bucks. It has long been rumored that Milwaukee is going to offer the reigning back-to-back MVP with a supermax extension, for obvious reasons. According to a new report, the Bucks brass are confident that their cornerstone superstar will be signing on the dotted line soon.

According to ESPN's Zach Lowe, Milwaukee believe that Giannis will be committing his future with the franchise this offseason:

Many within the Bucks remain confident Giannis Antetokounmpo will sign a five-year supermax extension valued at between $220 million and $250 million (depending on the cap level) before the start of the 2020-21 regular season. Unless something drastic changes, Milwaukee is not trading him. If Antetokounmpo doesn't sign, the Bucks are prepared to play it out, sources have said.

This does not come as a surprise at all. Giannis himself has indicated on multiple occasions that he intends to remain in Milwaukee for the long haul. All this should come to fruition sooner rather than later, and should put an end to all the uncertainty surrounding Antetokounmpo's future.

It is also worth noting that as the report above states, the Bucks are willing to risk it all in the scenario that Giannis opts not to sign an extension this offseason. He is going to be an unrestricted free agent next summer, which means that he could very well walk away from Milwaukee for nothing in 2021. As it seems, the Bucks are more than willing to take that immense gamble than to even consider trading their generational superstar in the offseason.
