Despite the Washington Wizards previously indicating that they do not intend to trade Bradley Beal in the offseason, this has done little to discourage opposing teams from trying to have a go at the two-time All-Star.

According to a report by ESPN's Zach Lowe, rival teams are still more than willing to test Washington's resolve over Beal:

Rivals are not giving up on Beal becoming available sooner. Multiple strong playoff teams have called teams in the top 10 of the draft, investigating what it would take to acquire those picks, sources have said.

The Wizards are in a bit of a tough spot right now with John Wall and Beal. As it is, this pairing does not seem to have what it takes to win a championship in the NBA, and with Father Time (and injuries) catching up to Wall, a rebuild appears to be on the horizon.

In order for a rebuild to work, the Wizards will need young talent. There's no better way to acquire the same than via the draft, using a high lottery pick — something that teams such as the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors (the owners of the Top 2 picks in the draft) might be willing to send over to the Wizards in exchange for Beal:

Both the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors have explored trading their picks for All-NBA-level stars, sources say, but no such deal appears (for now) likely to materialize. The Wizards have shown no interest in trading Beal for either pick, sources say.

While this may be an attractive prospect for the Wizards, they appear to be adamant about keeping Beal. They are looking to have another run with Beal and a healthy John Wall this coming season, and depending on how that goes, Washington might just be employing an entirely different game plan in the near future.
